Full Plane sponsors intro 29er clinic in Seattle

Thirteen Seattle-area sailors spent September 8-9th enjoying 10-15 knots onPuget Sound in what was for many their first time in a 29er. Jen Glass, MattThorslund, Lisa and Jay Renehan helped the group learn the new skills. Saturday many of the new skiff sailors had their fair share of dips in the pond. However, on Sunday the fleet was sailing long distances and racing around marks.

The biggest smiles of the weekend came from two young Opti sailors who plan to race 29ers together. Tipping the scales somewhere under200 pounds, the girls had plenty of power. Giggles could be heard both whilethey were right-side-up and up-side-down. Current 29er teams should look for NW sailors at upcoming regattas.

A big thank you to Full Plane for their support!

Skiff girls score NEW WOMENS WETSUITS at evaluation event

As the Womens High Performance Dinghy Evaluation Event got underway in Hyeres, France, the womens 29erXX delegates found themselves with the new womens plane suit!

Sailors Jacqui Bonnitcha, Silja Lehtinen, Jen Glass, and Kersten Beucke participated in the evaluation event to help determine a potential womens double handed skiff for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Surprised with the new suits the girls were quick to try them on and offered a few comments:

"I really like the stuff on the butt - doesn't get eaten up by anything, let alone the non-skid on a 29er. The women's suits fit really well, and keep you warmer than a guy's suit that loses heat in the waist and shoulders where the suit is too big for women" - Jen Glass
